I am in the process of updating our computers at work. I have setup a
new PD 3.4GHZ Computer with 1GB RAM and an Intel 10/100- 1000 network
card. I am on a domain with 12 other computers that are running XP.
The computer in question is running Windows Vista 32 bit Business
addition. We are using the 3com OfficeConnect firewall.

The problem that I am having is I cannot connect to Windows Update, and MSN Massager service from the vista machine. Nor can I
register any of the Microsoft software online.

I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps and can connect to other
websites other than the ones mention above. In addition, the other XP
machines located on the network, behind the same firewall, CAN connect
    to these sites.

Anyone know what I can do???

    Thank You,

The only way I could get it to connect on our network was to take them off of
the domain and run windows update and they connected fine. That probably
won't be an option for you. From other places I have checked, you may need
to use a system policy to allow them out. Vista is TOTALLY different than XP
in so many ways, they really should put out something to help all these IT
    staffers on domains.
