I searched and saw another person with a problem doing this, but what happens
when he tries is different than what happesn with me.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium with IE 7. When on a web page, I
cannot highlight text to copy it off. The only way I can accomplish copying
something off a web page is to Ctrl-A and Ctrl-C to copy the entire page,
and then chop out the rest of the page. Very annoying.

Has anyone seen this and have any tips? Thanks in advance.

Do we get to know what web page you're talking about?

Its any web page, not a specific web page.

I don't have any problem copying text from a web page.

This is frequently caused by an incompatible browser add-on. The
troubleshooting steps described below will help you to diagnose and fix

Problems with Internet Explorer can also be caused by the presence of
    viruses or other malicious software.

Does this setting have any relevance, "Allow Programmatic clipboard access" under 'Tools > Internet
    Options > Security > Internet' ?

It's always hard to find the right setting. Glad it was an easy fix!
