can't get hotmail with livemail desktop.

    Can't get my hotmail. Anything I can do to fix this, or is it on microsoft's
    end? Here's the error mssg:

    Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail account. Windows Live
    Mail can't connect to the Hotmail server. To send and receive messages in
    your Hotmail account, go to http://hotmail.live.com on the Web, or try again
    later.

    Server Error: 5102
    Server Response: Xfs request 'SyncBinary' failed. Response code:
    'InternalServerError', server response: '999 0'
    Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
    Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00002

    You might want to update to a new version of Windows Live Mail,
    which takes Desktop away from the name used for an older version:

    I have the exact same error message. I've been getting it since last
    night. Maybe it's a New Year's glitch? I think it started around
    9pm... coincidentally known as the New Year according to the East Coast
    (though I'm on the West).
    Anyway, same exact message. It won't send or receive messages. I can
    delete my user account and re-set it up, and receive and send ONCE, but
    after that, I get the same error.
    The interesting thing is that when I set up my account, the default
    http mail server is
    'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v1.0.0/Sync.aspx'
    but when I try to send or receive, the server is _v2, not _v1. I have
    changed the server to _v2, and I get the same message. So where is the
    program getting the idea that I want to use the _v2 server if I have it
    configured as _v1? Maybe this is the source of the problem, but when I
    change the server manually, the problem still exists. It's like there's
    a problem with _v2, and changing the server through the accounts tab
    doesn't actually change the server I use. I would like to try out _v1,
    only I don't know how to tell it that.
    I have tried fully uninstalling and reinstalling all Windows Live
    programs, and I still encounter the same problem.
    I am what you might call "fed up."
    I have the latest version of Windows Live Mail...

    Oh what the hell?????

    My Windows Live Mail checks for mail every minute, and I've been typing
    this for the past 5. It has been failing all last night and all
    morning, but as soon as I typed "fed up" it successfully received mail
    for the first time in 16 hours of trying.
    So, if you're having the same problem as me, I suggest that you type
    "fed up" and your problem should be fixed too ;) Seriously, I did
    NOTHING at that time to fix it - it's as if the server was repaired, or
    it fixed itself internally. Good luck to all that have had the same
    problem - I hope I'm the only one that had these problems...

    Checking every minute is probably too often to let it finish each check
    before the next one starts. Try setting it to check every 5 minutes.
