Per the MS beta 3 checklist, I must remove beta 2 before downloading and
    installing beta 3. Unfortunately, I can't remove beta 2 even though I'm
using the same admin login I used to download and install it.

Here's the text of the error message I'm getting: "Windows Internet
Explorer 7 Beta 2 cannot be uninstalled from this user account. Please log
on to the same user account from which it was installed and try again."

Thanks Don. I had to click on the IE folder to generate a new key, and
there are several others already there. Hope that's what's expected.

  4. Go to Start | Run and type
    regedit
    and press <Enter>
    Navigate to the key
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
    Click on Internet Explorer.
Right click in the right pane and select New String Value .
    Name that value
    InstalledByUser
Right click the new value and choose Modify and give it your User Account
    name
Now try to Uninstall IE7 via Add or Remove Programs.
