In Windows Media Player 11 playlists are saved to C:\Documents and
Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\My Playlists. Is there any way to
    change this path?

I am aware that there are ways of creating playlists such that one can
choose the save path manually. However, it would be much easier to do it this
way, since it requires much less clicking, and the place I put my playlists
    is always the same.

    Many thanks in advance.

Try changing your RIP folder in WMP settings.

I see. Unfortunately, the Windows Media Player product team misapply the
Rip Folder. A setting named Rip Folder should be just that. Where Ripped
content goes. In Windows Media Player 11, the Windows Media Player product
team incorrectly equate Rip Folder to Music Library.

I disagree with their decision to tie them together. Even so, if they were
going to tie them together it should be called Library Folder or Music
Folder which could be construed to include Rip Folder but there's no logic
that takes you from Rip Folder to Music or Library Folder. Just another
case of the Windows Media Player product team developing WMP for how the
developers use WMP rather than for how real people use WMP.
