check vista or xp

    i would like to have a script where it checks if the users logs on a xp or
    vista machine.

    so i can copy the c:\user to vista clients

    tx for any info

  2. You could use the "ver" command in a batch file environment. In VB Scripts
    it takes a little more than three letters. It also takes longer to execute.

    Set OSSet = GetObject("winmgmts://." _
    & "/root/cimv2").ExecQuery("select * from Win32_OperatingSystem")
    For Each OS In OSSet
    wscript.echo OS.Caption, OS.CSDVersion
    Next
