I was playing a game of Chess Titans, and while playing it, I opened\nup an IE window to access the internet. I couldn't connect to the\ninternet - I had been able to connect a few minutes earlier, but the\nusb wireless adapter I'm using is a little flaky. Then I couldn't\nclose the browser at all, and CTRL-ALT-DEL didn't do anything. Vista\njust froze, it wasn't a BSOD, it just froze. I waited several\nminutes, while trying CTRL-ALT-DEL, ALT-TAB, CTRL-ESC, unplugging and\nreconnecting the usb wireless adapter and the usb keyboard. Vista\nnever responded. I had to hold down the power button on the computer\nfor several seconds to turn it off. Then I turned it back on, and I\nran a "chkdsk", and it said "Windows has checked the file system and\nfound no problems." But when I try to run Chess Titans, nothing\nhappens. Absolutely nothing happens - no errors, and chess.exe does\nnot appear in the Task Manager at all. What's going on here?
