Right off, I'd say the proxy setting. That system is set to send requests
to an external proxy. Make sure that the 'ignore proxy for local
addresses' is enabled, or better, remove the proxy entry.

  3. First question is:
Why is the client going through a proxy server to get to the WSUS server?
The error 0x801901f4 is an HTTP Error 500, a generic "the server could not
respond to the request", while attempting to download the detected update.
Since there's only 1 download call being persisted, I'm going to speculate
that it is the Windows Installer v3.1 package.

However, notice that the client also failed on a selfupdate check:
And, as JeffG just reported the other day.. if the selfupdate don't work...
    nothin' works.

But, perhaps the most useful message comes at the end of the log entries
    posted:
So you'll also want to verify that the Automatic Updates service is running,
and that it is configured to run in the correct Log On context. On Windows
XP SP1 systems, this is the SYSTEM account.

Thank you to Lawrence and Asher_N to keep me in track on the proxy setting.
I found the WinHttpSettings in the following registry:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
    Settings\Connections
    "WinHttpSettings"=hex:18,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,0f,00,00,00,66,61,73,\
    74,77,65,62,2e,62,65,6c,6c,2e,63,61,00,00,00,00

I deleted the "WinHttpSettings" key, stop and restart Automatic Updates
    service.

    Now it works!!!

    Thank you again...
