"Client Setup Wizard Error" Received by Non-Admins

    Whenever a person without Admin rights logs into the SBS 2003 Domain, they
    receive the following Client Setup Wizard Error:

    "You must be a member of the local.Administrators security group on this
    computer to install and configure applications."

    I realize that this is being caused because the server is attempting to
    install applications/patches and the user logged in is NOT a member of the
    local administrator group.

    I have seen other posts that indicate the resolution to this problem is to
    make the user an admin of their local machine. However, this is not an
    acceptable solution. I have clients that do NOT want their employees having
    any sort of admin or "power user" rights on their local machines. I agree
    to this philosophy, but cannot seem to implement it. Any help would be
    greatly appreciated.

    On another note, does Microsoft have any utility or Web Site to test the
    security of any SBS server I set up?

  2. If you don't want to configure users as local Administrators, then
    you'd be best off commenting out the SBS Deployment tools from the SBS
    Logon Script.
