Cluster group goes online on one node but can't browse disk resource

    Our exchange 2000 SP4 two node cluster on W2000 SP4 was moved to new disks
    on a different controller (changed disk signatures) six weeks ago and
    everything was fine, then we got a blue sceen on one node (0x0000001e) in
    ntoskrnl. On manually failing over to the other node (worryingly the
    cluster service had stopped) the mail service is ok so we restarted the
    failed node and it seemed stable. On moving a (working) group back to the
    failed node all the resources went online and the disk was shown in device
    manager and disk administrator, but not in windows explorer. Attempting to
    explore from disk admin did not work. We then exposed a new lun, created a
    new volume on this disk, and assigned a drive letter (so *not* controlled by
    the cluster service) and we got the same result (no access to drive letter).
    Restarted the node and this disk was accessible.
    We have done a few chkdsks and still minor problems on C:. My thoughts is
    damaged W2K node and we should restore from backup? Or is this a known
    clustering issue??

  3. Sounds like you're accessing the nodes through a Terminal Services session.
    You only need to log off and then log back on in order to see your disks
    properly. See the following KB article for details:

    You mention "exposed new LUN" i.e. SAN.
    Have you zoned your switches correctly or is this DAS.
    Have you shown the new disk i.e. LUN to eash server before the Cluster, and
    given each server the correct drive letter i.e. the same drive letter ?
