codec error: 60034 Please Check Codec Exists

    I never got this message until a week ago. It only happens when the computer
    starts up. now wmp doesn't play certain video and recieves errors in
    downloading codecs on its own.
    I tried gspot and it had found the codec but it wasn't registered.
    If anyone can help me solve this problem let me know. I have win98 and
    wmp9. thanks
