Colours merged and blurred in Paint after saving and re-opening!

Discussion in 'Windows Vista Music, Pictures and Video' started by the-black-lodge, Nov 9, 2007.

  1. My partner drew an intricate image in MS Paint, which was supposed to be a
    pattern for an embrodery project.

However after saving the image and reopening it, all the colours have merged
and blurred at the edges, ruining her work.

This seems to happen whether at 100% zoom or 800%, the colours run.

Can anyone help? XP didn't have this problem.

  2. What format was the image saved in? If a jpg for instance then fine detail
will be lost each time it is saved.

  3. Thanks you've solved my problem! It was saved as jpeg but I've tried saving
draft projects in other formats and 24 bit bitmap works the best.

Shame I can't reconfigure the images that have already bled.

Do you know how to save preference to save as 24-bit bitmap as the 'save as'
defaults to jpeg when saving a new item

What file type was it saved as... ? PNG or BMP should function much better
    than JPEG.
