Greetings! I am new to this, so please be patient. I recently captured some
video from a Digital8 tape I made, using Sony's capture software.
Apparently, it saved the files as .AVI files, although the properties only
shows them as Video Clips. They are HUGE in size...a 24-second clip with
sound is 166 MB! Is there a way I can convert them to MPEG, or some other
acceptable format and size? I'd like to share them with family via email,
but right now that's not possible.

Any suggestions on Microsoft products, Media Player, or any of the other
downloads which I might use? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

Use Windows Media Encoder or Windows Movie Maker, they does an excellent job
    at shrinking file size.
