What is the best way to convert a server 2003 domain to run as a child domain
    in an active directory domain?

  2. Can You describe a little more Your scenario - probably You want to
migrate resources from Your domain to other forest as a child domain.

Anyway - You will have to migrate these resources with ADMT v3 or other
tool which supports such process. There is no conversion of domain. You
have to create new domain and migrate resources

    Thanks for the advise.
I have a server 2003 stand alone domain that I would like to add to my new
domain as a child domain. I thought that all I would need to do is delete
the existing active directory and DNS and then create a new active directory
and DNS and then join the the new domain as a child domain.

  5. There is not such way of perform the operation, the only solution is to
perform a migration. I suggest to do that with ADMT (Active Directory
    Migration Tool)
