I recently created a video using windows movie maker, but when i tried to
upload it onto various websites, it was saying how it was not the correct or
available file format. So i tried to open it up with windows media player,
but it was saying how it wasn't the correct format.

"You've encountered error message C00D1199 while using Windows Media Player"
    to be exact

if anyone knows how to convert the files from windows movie maker into
normal formatted files, i would so appreciate the help! thank you!

Re-export the video from movie maker. The file is corrupt. Once you export it
should atleast play fine with media player. And also check the extension of
the file should be WMV. You might be playing the saved project. Hope it helps.

I'm having problems the other way round. I have downloaded some music
from the internet and want to use it for a movie that I am making on
Windows Movie Maker and it won't let me use the music due to something
    about a codec?

rmvb or mp4 or something else). After that i can give you bit of advise.
