My companyweb site was not functioning and so I removed it from the IIS MMC
window. How can I create a new site that has the same functionality as
CompanyWeb but call it something else in the process?

  2. Hi Scott,

I haven't done this, but I believe if you create a new virtual server (and
make it respond via host headers to whatever else you want it to respond
to), and then you go into the SharePoint central administration (from the
server management console) and choose to extend SharePoint to this site, it
will build a sharepoint site for you.

You should also open the DNS snap-in on the server and make an entry similar
to companyweb for your new name so the name resolves on your network.

Let me know how that goes.
