Is it possible to add a custom property set in a AVSTREAM minidriver at
    the KSDEVICE level ?
I know it is possible at the KSFILTER level using KSAUTOMATION_TABLE in
the KSFILTER_DESCRIPTOR. But the custom property I intend to add is not
related to any filter provided in the minidriver...Therefore I would
like to add it at the device level.

    Thanks for your help.

    Not really, no.
How would you gain access to that set anyway? For filters and pins custom
stuff gets exposed to the user land via custom property pages or interfaces.
For KSDEVICE it is not really possible as it is not directly exposed to
    apps.

What you can do is you can expose the set on the filter, but maintain it on
the device level. In that case all the filter does is it delegates all calls
to the device, which carries out the operation with appropriate
    synchronization.

Thanks Max. I do not feel comfortable adding a property set into a
filter as the property set is not related with the filter function.
But if that's the only way to do it, then I can forget my feelings...
