I have an exsisting Windows server that started life as a Windows Server 2000
and has been recently upgraded to Windows Server 2003 and is fully patched.

We just are now adding a second server with is Windows Server 2003 R2.

When I tried to dcpromo the new Windows Server 2003 R2 into the current
Winodws Server 2003 domain it complained about the schema and that I needed
    to run adprep tools.

I have run the "adprep /forestprep" and the "adprep /domainprep" on the
Windows Server 2003, get good results, can find no errors but still the
Windows Server 2003 R2 is reporting the same issue and won't complete the
    dcpromo.

Of course I can join the Windows Server 2003 R2 to the domain as a member
server but it would be REAL NICE to have it particapate in the domain as a
    controller.

If anyone can help I buy you a lunch at Wendy's or something.

    My email is Schandler(removethis)@TeamLogicIT.com

    Thanks for your help and...
    Have a great day,

  2. Run the adprep located on CD2 of the Windows 2003 R2 media.
