I get the Decoder Error message - video decoder has either
malfunctioned or is not installed. Please restart media center and/or
computer. I ran the decoder checkup and have all green checkmarks. I even
reformatted and reinstalled, thevtv works until i do windows updates. It
stops working after the Update for Windows XP (KB898461). Is this common?
    What should I do?

Just to give more info ... I have NVTV tuner, fx 5200 agp. The system
worked great for almost a year until 3 days ago. now I can't get it to show
tv or play recorded tv after I reformat and then install the first update.(
It will work until i do any updates.)

  3. Try removing your DVD Decoder from Add/Remove Programs, then reinstalling it.
