Desktop Icon has disappeared cannot get it back

Discussion in 'Internet Explorer' started by Just my 2 cents, Mar 30, 2008.

  1. I tried looking in Customize Desktop, but there are now only 3 choices in
there. The one for Internet has gone. I do not just want a shortcut, I
would like to have the original icon back on my desktop. Can anyone help me
    out with this. Thank you.

  2. It was removed by a not too recent update. But my Internet Explorer icon on
the Start Menu now has Internet Options as a right click choice. You can
easily put a normal shortcut to IE on the desktop.

  3. The Internet Explorer check box disappears from the Desktop Items dialog box
after you install the QFE version of security update MS07-061 on a Windows
    XP Service Pack 2-based computer
