    Hello,

I have no idea what ocurred with my server but users cannot authenticate. I
have even tried using the remote connection which I am able to access but
then I am not able to authenticate, it says logon name and password are
    incorrect.

This is extremely weird as I have checked all setings and services and
everything appears ok, clients are able to access the internet but when u try
tu access the server it donesnt let you.

Anyone have any ideas what could have happend?? Before all this ocurred,
there had been problems with the internet connection which would fall after a
    couple of minutes.

Please help, this problem is driving me crazy!!

    thanks,

    FR

  2. Please post an ipconfig /all for both the server and a workstation.

Any errors in the event logs of the workstations or the server?

  4. While I might use a LAN Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0 instead of 255.0.0.0,
    the ipconfigs look OK.

    + Is this SBS 2003 Standard, Premium, SP1, R2?

+ Have you re-run CEICW, enabled the firewall, selected the services you
need and then completed CEICW? Then reboot the workstations and see if they
    can then access the server?

+ Any errors in the event logs on the workstation or server?

+ All try ipconfig /flushdns on the server and a workstation.

+ Check the server NIC Bindings:
Right click My Network Places...Properties. Highlight the Internal NIC. Then
select Advanced...Advanced Settings from the top menu for that window.
The Internal NIC should be display first followed by the External NIC. If
not, move the Internal NIC to the top of the list.
The Internal NIC should have File and Printer Sharing bound (checkmarked)
    to the TCP/IP Protocol.
The Internal NIC should have Client for Microsoft Networks bound
    (checkmarked) to the TCP/IP Protocol.
The External NIC should be bound to TCP/IP only (no other protocols or
    services).

Merv look at the DNS settings on the external NIC again-looks like ISP DNS
servers and not the SBS internal NIC.

  6. Arrggggh... Good catch Steve.

Two Nics, a static IP address, ISA, no router
    http://www.smallbizserver.net/tabid...o-Nics-a-static-IP-address-ISA-no-router.aspx

Felipe - Remove the DNS servers on the external NIC and insert the IP
    address of the server (10.0.0.1).

(Good thing Steve's awake today - looks like I'm not). ;-)
