determining logged in or last logged in user

  1. Hi,

When viewing a computer account in NDS (Novell) you are able see who last
logged onto the computer. It seems I cannot do this in AD Users and
    Computers.

Is there a way to do this with AD or do I need to run some sort of script
and save the output to a file?

    cheers,

Depends on what you want to accomplish and where you want to present it.
By default, the last logged in user credentials are displayed at the logon
screen. This can be modified to not remember that information if you
    desire.

If you want that information centrally available, then yes I believe you
would have to write a script to do that.

  3. Thanks for your reply, Al.

I would like that information centrally available, and it is a pity that
that info is not stored in ADUC or elsewhere already. I found it extremely
    useful when I used NDS.

I am sure a script should be fairly easy to write or find.

I'm curious. What was it useful for?

The scripts would be easy to write/find, but figuring out how you really
want to do this might take a little more thought. Depends on the number of
users you're talking about as well.
