    Why does DFS not make a DFS share browseable unless I define a DC as a
    namespace server?

    If I configure two file servers as DFS share and replicate between them but
    only specify the two file servers as namespace servers I am not able to vew
    the DFS share by browsing. eg: Browsing to \\lab.local displays all shares
    on that DC but does not include the DFS of the two file servers.

    Once I add my DC to the list of namespace servers I am able to see my newley
    created DFS share. Is this a feature so that I can choose to publish a DFS
    share or not or is there some other reason for this?
