I have 3 servers in three different locations.
when a user opens the file in location A, that file is locko only server (
    A, B, C ) or servers A?

    thanks

    Emilio,
DFS does not "distribute" file locks - so locking a file on a link target
hosted on server A will not automatically lock its replicas on servers B and
    C...
If you require this sort of functionality, you would need to use a third
party product, such as for example DFS File Locking from Peer Software
    available at
    http://www.peersoftware.com/solutions/high_availability/dfs_file_locking.aspx

It's quite hilarious that you need 3rd party software to do this. I really hoped Windows Server 2008 fixed this.
