DFSR R2 Event errors

Discussion in 'File Systems' started by Cats Solutions, Jun 15, 2006.

  1. Hi there we have implemented DFS replication between two sites connected via
a VPN link. This was working with no problems for a couple of months.
Recently we are getting the following errors on are main site DFS
    Replication event log:

    Event id: 5002
    Source: DFRS

The DFS Replication service encountered an error communicating with partner
"remote site server" for replication group "Domain name"\network\colour.

    Partner DNS address: serverneame.domain.local

    Optional data if available:
    Partner WINS Address: Servername
    Partner IP Address: 192.168.2.2

The service will retry the connection periodically.

    Additional Information:
Error: 9032 (The connection is shutting down)
    Connection ID: B118B152-5FDF-4621-A0C8-62FE86FCBFCA
    Replication Group ID: 3B73C133-CF32-46F8-A58A-395200F20C23

on the remote server we are getting the following error:

    Event ID: 5014
    Souce: DFRS

The DFS Replication service is stopping communication with partner
Localserver for replication group "domain"\network\colour due to an error.
The service will retry the connection periodically.

    Additional Information:

Error: 1726 (The remote procedure call failed.)

    Connection ID: E773474C-118D-4C07-8C07-5B890589BD41

    Replication Group ID: 3B73C133-CF32-46F8-A58A-395200F20C23

I have checked the VPN link and can communicate with the remote server no
    problems at all.

    any ideas???

    Many Thnaks

  2. I can't say what the problem is exactly because it could be anything from
flaky network to VPN issues to stressed machines... I can suggest that you
install the following update to the RPC component.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908521. This may fix the problem and
unfortunately it may not. Continue to monitor your setup and update this
thread if you continue to see issues
