Turning off 'Check for IE Updates' resolved my issue with the work offline
window popping up all the time.

    Hi Sandi,
I have the same problem with the connection window popping up all the time.
I tried the suggestions to no avail... I have emailed a screen print, it took
a few tries as the screen only appears for a second.
Are you any further advanced with this?

  4. I'll see what I can find, but bear in mind that my newsgroup email address
    is a spamtrap.

There is an email address noted on www.ie-vista.com. Use that to contact
    me. Its far lower traffic.

    Hi Sandi,
Thanks for your reply. I solved the problem to an extent that I got rid of
the connection window. By checking on Internet Options/Connection "never dial
a connection" helped. I am still using IE7 and like the tabs as per Mozilla.
Only problem I have now is that sometimes when connecting to a new site I get
the message box "Not Connected - Try Again or Work Offline" Not sure what the
conditions are for this but it only happens occasionally. Thanks again...
    Regards, Clem

What I did gang was check the never dial a connection in the connections tab,
and the seems to have taken care of the dial up window that keeps popping up,
I just set up my default connection as a shortcut on my toolbar and connect
manually that way, I still get the work offline / try again pop up every so
often but overall seems to work great, would really like MS to get this bug
    fixed thou...I hope this helps.

    I have used that fix
so I have to open AOL 9.0 to make an automatic and stable connection
    and remain on AOL
so MS IE 7 functions as if on a wan

    no problems

please fix this issue / bug
of calling the dial up once only
with the other two settings in MS internet options

Wow! That is my problem, too...exactly!

What makes it worse are those (few) websites that have rollover features on
a clicked button/link. When I attempt to click the button, the mouse
immediately moves to the popup dialog box!

Had to use the "Never dial a connection" temporary fix while in the current
    dial-up session.

As others have said, this just seems to have occurred in the most recent
Beta version. Looking forward to Beta 3 (or final version!).
