Hello all. I just purchased a new HP media center PC with media center 2004 and cannot seem to get the computer to change the channels on my digital cable set top box. I have the emmiter on the set top box and the IR receiver on the computer. It recognizes the remote however will not change channels even when I program it by hand. The emmiter blinks but nothing happens. The box is a Motorola Digital box from Comcast. I can still use media center without the box but I have to insert the cable directlly to the PC only getting basic. Also, another strange thing, I can download the program guide for my area but it's 1 hour behind in time. My PC time is correct. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

  2. which model # box? 5100? 620X? is it the one with the built in PVR?
What zipcode are you in? (and what are your daylight savings time
    settings and situation?)

    Thanks Barb for the concern!
However, after spending hours with the STB and computer, I finally figured out the problem. ANYONE WHO IS CURRENTLY USING COMCAST DIGITAL CABLE AND HAS THE MOTOROLA DIGITAL BOX, THE REMOTE SENSOR IS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CHANNEL WINDOW, NOT THE RIGHT SIDE EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS OTHERWISE ON THE BOX. However, I'm still not sure why the guide is messed up timewise. I have the CPU set for EST with daylight savings. I've even tried it without DST however it's still the same.

  4. What zipcode are you in? Please post the zipcode here.
Also, try a completely different zipcode and download the guide, then
go back to the one you were using (the correct zip) and download
    again.
