How do I disable fingerprint recognition? I left my laptop w. my daughter
yesterday for her to use and we couldn't find how to so this. We ended up
authorizing her fingerprint but I wanted her to enhance work on a program I
use and changes were made on her account only. This could have been avoided
had we been able to disable my fingerprint.

Can you not make the folder a shared folder so you can both have
access to it rather than downgrading the security of your laptop?

I have no idea. I can try. I called Gateway where I just purchased the
laptop and they said it was not possible to disable it.

Why would you want to disable the security on your computer? I am
sure you would not want to take the bolts off the front door of your
    house!!!

I suggest you look at how to make the folder a shared folder so you
and your daughter can both save your files to the same folder and both
access the same folder using your separate accounts.

If you use Start then Computer to find the folder then right click and
go into properties one of the options is to enable sharing. I see
there is also a public folder. I have not tried this but I expect
that if you both save to that location you will both be able to get to
    the files.

All good ideas. Thanks for the input. I think I'll try file sharing first.
