My new Dish Network Receiver model 322 falls asleep (almost like a screen saver) after X hours of inactivity. One has to press the select button on the remote to wake it up.

I just got off the phone with the Dish Network. They claim that the current version of the software on this model does not allow one to turn off the standby mode. Perhaps in the future there will be an update that will provide that configuration, but of course they were not able to provide a time frame.

Does anyone have ideas on how I can programmatically send the "select" signal to the receiver every x hours to keep it wake?
