Dish Network set top box DP311 remote not recognized

I have a Dish Network subscription with a DP311 set top box, and Media Center
2005 will not recognize the remote control at all. At the initial set up
screen where it tries to recognize my remote by holding down the "0" button,
it says the remote can not be recognized. Then when I try to program the
remote manually, it goes through the process like it's supposed to and it
responds to my Dish remote control, but then when I try to use the Media
Center remote to change channels, nothing happens and it still doesn't work.
Does anyone know what's going on and how to get my Media Center remote to
work right with my Dish Network set top box?

Microsoft, is this a bug that needs to be fixed in the next rollout?

I had the same problem....If you search Microsoft
KB...You see there is a resolution for the problem...

When you go through the set up process for the remote and
when it ask if you need to hit "enter/OK" after you enter
the channel.. Select "yes"..That will fix the problem
    with the remote..

I tried what you said and it still didn't work. Do you have a URL of the KB
    article?

    Justin,

I just got my system set up and had the same problems with my 311's. Before
you start learning the remote codes, tell MCE that you do need to press enter
and then use only 3 digit channels and medium IR speed and you should be up.

I've tried everything from the thread with no luck. I have a 311 too. I've
told MCE that I don't need to press Enter and that I use only 3 digets. I've
covered the third ir eye (the one on the far right) with tape, and then
isolated the 2 ir blasters from the MCE remote over the other 2 ir eyes on
    the 311. Still nothing.

I see a picture and can change the chanel with my 311 remote. Everything is
working GREAT except for the remote (which mean I cannot set up my Hauppauge
dual tuner card...so no PVR functionality, etc.).

Any ideas? I've been working on this for two days! LOL!

I built the MCE computer myself and had 14 days to return everything for a
full refund. In those 14 days, I read every newsgroup I could find and even
contacted Hauppauge (who said you can't use Dish systems with MCE). I
    returned everything...Way to go MS.
