Disk device property sheet checkboxes

  1. Namely:
    - "Optimize for Quick Removal"
    - "Optimize for Performance"

What disk stack's facilities do they employ? some WMI classes? some FSCTLs?
    or some SCSI mode pages?

A person asked me privately about this. Maybe Microsoft people can answer?

  2. Well, the description for these options (in XP these are actually radio
buttons) specifically say that this disables/enables the disk hardware
cache. So I guess it employs a IOCTL_DISK_SET_CACHE_INFORMATION.
