    Hi,

    I wish to dismount BOTH stores using a script wich then will be activated
    bij a third party backup package.

    I have a script stopping the mailbox store but not de Public Folder Store.

    \\\\\ SCRIPT

    Set oDB = CreateObject("CDOEXM.MailboxStoreDB")

    strDB = "CN=Mailbox Store (SERVER),CN=First Storage
    Group,CN=InformationStore,CN=BIG-TASTY,CN=Servers,CN=First Administrative
    Group,CN=Administrative Groups,CN=*****,CN=Microsoft
    Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=****,DC=***"

    oDB.DataSource.Open strDB
    oDB.Dismount()

    \\\\ SCRIPT

    If I replace " Mailbox Store" with Public Folder Store it will not work.

    Beacause "Net stop MSExchangeIS" generates an error message while using
    MSOutlook while dismounting both stores it doesn't

    P.S. Solved it with vbScript

  5. Hi Dennis,

    Thanks for your update. I am glad to know that you have resolved the issue.

    Technical speaking, we can dismount all stores in all storage groups, but
    MSExchangeIS service (the Information Store service) can not be stopped. In
    other word, even all stores is dismounted, the Information Store is still
    running. It is core service of Exchange server. Without it, the Exchange
    server will not send/receive messages properly.

    Please do not hesitate to post in this newsgroup if you need any assistance
    in the future! We are glad to help.

    Have a nice day!
