Currently we've noticed that some of the distribution groups that are used
for email only I've read this post

    http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...847f472bc08e&lang=en&cr=US&sloc=en-us&m=1&p=1

and understand this because of Exchange is installed in the environment and
    it cannot be turned off.

My question is since there is no way to prevent a user from applying
permissions, thus making it a security group, is it better to just make all
distribution groups security groups? Is there a benefit to just having a
distribution group? I do not like the feeling that these groups are able to
just change without me knowing. Any other input would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mark
