Dns records for the domain and global catalog servers

  1. Running 2000server sp4
I was wondering if there is a specific dns record for the domain and the
    global catalog servers?
Can I check in there are registered using nslookup?

I sometimes receive errors in the logs saying the domain is non existant.
Sometimes I receive 'no global catalogs servers available' when I know that
at least one of the servers is running.
NETDIAG says that all domain controllers are properly registered in dns.
