I have a document in the print queue that states deleting-
error-printing as the status. I can't get rid of it.

    Any help would be appreciated?

Don't know if you already fixed your problem as those
things have a habit of hanging and then spontaneously
being alright after like 10-15 minutes but next time a
problem like that arises, pause all printing on the
printer before you cancel the job. Usually deletes faster!

  3. from a command prompt on the server, run

    net stop spooler
    and then right away
    net start spooler

this will typically purge the job that is screwed up. While the spooler
service is off, jobs of course will not be sent to the the printer but this
whole operation takes less than 20 seconds to run.

  4. oh, that is of course assuming you're sending the jobs to a print server.
If it's hooked directly up to the workstation (and the workstation is
NT4.0 -> XP) then just drop to a cmd prompt on that box and run those
    commands.
