Does anyone ever respond to all these people seeking help?

Discussion in 'Windows Media Player' started by wmpisntworking, Sep 12, 2005.

  1. How can I fix this issue of the WMP network tab not opening and its also
causing other applications from using the WMP controls for network
    streaming.

    Anybody?

Yes, people do try to help. Often though, the question or problem is not
described clearly or completely, making a response difficult if not
impossible. If that is the case, the helper who is just browsing through to
see if maybe he can help some one out will keep on clicking until he finds a
question or problem he thinks he can answer. Make sense?
Is the Network tab grayed out or does it appear normal and does nothing
    when you click on it?
The above is pretty unclear to me...could you restate?? kr.

  3. KR,

Let's just focus on the network tab, it is not grayed out it looks normal
but just does not respond when you click on it. So I cannot check to accept
all media types which I am hooping will allow me to listen to the media I
    currently cannot.

I have seen numerous other posts on this topic with no repsonses? Any help
    greatly appreciated.

    Best Regards,

    EJ

A user in another group says this:

:::: delete the media player folders from your profile in C:\Documents and
Settings\[username] and reboot. Also, you can test this by logging on
as another user on the same machine. Wierd though, cause I coudn't find
any policies or reg entries prohibiting the network tab - guess I just
don't care enough to look any further, since this fixes it. Otherwise,
make things even easier, log on as another admin account and blow your
whole profile away, that'll work too. ::::
I think he's on to something there. kr.
