Does Digital TV provider have to match provider specified for guid

Currently, the service provider I chose when setting up the MCE guide matches
the service provider that is actually providing my TV signal. But the condo
corporation where I live decided to switch to a second digital TV provider,
with the cost for its monthly service now incorporated into the condo fees. I
could remain with the original provider but would forcefully have to pay for
it on top of the other provider's service. I actually have no problem with
the other service, my only concern is that it's not listed amongst the
available choices when configuring the MCE guide. When the new digital
service eventually starts and I go into the MCE's settings to configure the
set top box, will I be able to map my old provider's channels shown in the
MCE guide to the corresponding channels that the MCE remote's receiver
transmits (through its attached IR transmitter) to the set top box, or will I
    be screwed?!

Actually, now that I look into this further myself, I guess changing the
mappings in 'Settings-TV-Guide-Eit Channels-Edit Numbers' should do the
    trick, right?
