There's multiple records in the reverse lookup zone on my
SBS2000 server. One is the computer name with the domain
suffix attached and the other is just the computer name
and their both using the same ip address. Is this
correct? The servers not setup to scavenge stale resource
    records, should it be?

  2. While this is technically correct (per the RFC's), it can cause
problems, but mainly via Internet sites (i.e, I was somewhere where
the DNS service we used added a reverse lookup for each of the domains
that were added on its public IP address!). This mainly caused
problems with mail authentication at the helo/ehlo stage, but also
looked bad (imho). However, if its refering to a private IP address,
it shouldn't cause any problems, and that should also go for deleting
one of the entries (I would have zapped the entry refering to just the
computer name, and see if it re-created itself after certain events).
