If your WMP10 gave you an Error C00D1199 - "Windows Media Player cannot play
the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the
codec that was used to compress the file". Download the XP Codec Pack 1.3.0
at http://www.free-codecs.com. It will save you time on editing all the ID3
    tags!!

  2. Downloading Codec Packs indiscriminately is more likely to CAUSE problems.

  4. What issue? You posted a cure for an undefined problem. May I suggest
    eSnake-oil?
For a start, C00D1199 is a generic error that could have MANY issues at
the root of it. (e.g. see
    http://msmvps.com/blogs/chrisl/articles/14322.aspx)

Suggesting a single fix based on *a single fix for one person* is
irresponsible. There's a load of crap in codec packs out there, and when
you've read a few tens of thousands of posts in these groups you'll also
notice how many people get in trouble *because* of them.

Dude, codec packs are a known cause of messed up WMP, piracy issues and
    spyware installation.

You don't know how they mess up your system until you try to clean it.

    Have a read at http://microsoftuse.temp.powweb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=327
about codec packs before you try advertising one again.
