The computer is telling me that a duplicate name exists on the network
everytime I boot. I have looked at lots of sites and none have been too
helpful. You see, the odd thing here is, my computer isn't on a network.
Its quite solitary, aside from an ethernet connection. But it gave me this
message even before I connected to the ethernet. It hasn't always done it
either. It randomly popped up one day, and it doesn't actually come up every
time I boot the computer, just most times. I think it might have happened
after I removed and replaced my hard drive. Anyway I'm sure there is
something I need to rename, but I'll need someone to please tell me in a very
    easy-to-follow manner. thanks very much!

First you say that your computer isn't on a network,
but then you say it's connected to an ethernet. That
doesn't make sense. Either it's on a network (ethernet)
    or it's not.

    Could you please clarify?
