When i log onto Windows XP i get a message
saying "Windows cannot find 'Dust.exe'. Make sure you
typed the name correctly, and then try again"

I realised that Dust.exe was a file with a virus in it
and it was stored in c:/Windows/System32/Dust.exe so i
deleted the file, but now every time i log on it says
    that file is missing.

my friend seems to think that when the virus got onto my
computer it made Windows XP think that it was a part of
sorftware it needed to work and now its deleted it makes
it think that Windows is not right and missing files.

    Can anyone help me???
please either reply to this or if u can e-mail me at
    it will be very much
    appreciated.

open up regedit and look at
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon key
You should see on the right "Shell" with the entry of "Explorer.exe
    Dust.exe"
right click on it and modify then remove the dust.exe.

Whoever cleaned the virus didn't do a complete job.
