Dynamically expanding HD doesn't expand

I set up Win2000 on a virtual disk using Virtual PC 2007. I chose the
dynamically expanding HD option while setting it up. Now, I've maxed out
the virtual drive (even though there's roughly 40gb still free on the
    host disk).

How do I get this thing to expand? I've looked at the options and it
looks like I can either convert it to a fixed size disk or I'll have to
nuke it and start all over with a larger virtual disk.

    Any help is appreciated.

  2. Howdie,
Dynamical expanding means, that it will expand to the size you entered when
you created the disk. This has nothing to do with free host space. A virtual
hard disk file has the same limition as a physical disk has. When it is
full, it will not expand, but the file will not use the full size on the
    physical disk after creation.

You can resize the disk with VHD Resizer from VMToolkit.com
