ECP/EPP LPT port not working for Scanner

    Hi

I recently upgraded from Connectix to Microsoft VPC. (this is good because
    networking is better)

My main reason for use is to run a virtual Win98 to run my old Agfa scanner,
which has no drivers for XP

This all worked fine on Connectix

Now the scanner software reports that the Printer port is the slow type, I
get a very poor grainy image from the scanner and it is painfully slow.

There is nothing in the VPC bios to choose the ECP/EPP option (Settings have
not been changed in my main bios, and this worked before)

I used the same Win 98 vhd.

Is there a fix for this, or do I have to go back to the old Connectix
    version

    Regards

    Joe

  2. Virtual PC has never supported using ECP/EPP. It only supports
    bi-dirrectional and standard.

So having gone back to Connectix 5.2, the very same vhd in Win98 runs fine
with the scanner. If VPC 2004 (5.3) is an upgrade, why doesn't it work?
    Surely this is a downgrade?

I am using an Agfa Snapscan 310 which a has a SCSI/Miniport Driver ( No Xp
    drivers!)

    Disappointed, Joe :(

I was seeing an error (from the Agfa Photolook Scanning/Twain program)
reporting that it need a fast LPT port to run properly

No errors came from VPC or Windows98

As said before, because the VPC doesn't see a fast LPT the scan is very
grainy and incredibly slow (and the scanner is slow anyway, being old)

The fact is MS VPC doesn't cut it in this department ???

  7. Nothing should have changed for LPT ports here - so I have no idea why this
    is happening.
