    Hello Jonathan,
A friend had some problems receiving my self made
emoticons. We both use messenger 7.0.0425 on XP-pro.
Some emoticons are visable and some are not.
I advised him to install "journal Viewer" and the
    emoticon problem was solved.
The handwrite option is still not present in his version
of messenger.(paint is present on that system)
Does he need re-install messenger to activate this
    funktion?

  2. I cant think what the problem could be...
Jonathan has gone AWOL but if you check out his site he may be able to help
    from there http://messenger.jonathankay.com

Try installing Windows Messenger as well, see if that helps.

  4. Greetings Erik,

Actually the Journal Viewer wouldn't have fixed this -- all the Journal Viewer does is add
the necessary ink support for handwriting support.

Has he rebooted since installing the Journal Viewer?

    I asked him again.
There was a little mis understanding on his side.
I told him to install the journal viewer, bud he did not.
He told me he installed instead from win-update a fix for
java and rebooted his system, and the emoticon problem
    was gone.
He did not install de journal viewer yet.
He looses also regulary the history in messenger.
Some of his other friends uses messenger-plus trying out
al features thats posible, like strange charakters in the
    name.
all the Journal Viewer does is add
