Error 0x80070020

    When I start downloading the updates I get to 60% and
    then it gives me error : 0x80070020. If someone knows
    anything about this let me know? thanks!

  2. This error code translates to STIERR_SHARING_VIOLATION. It could be caused by
    one of the files being locked by your antivirus software. You can either
    retry the download or temporary stop your antivirus software (and restart it
    after your download is completed). In most cases retry should fix the
    problem.

    If you are getting error 0x80070020 and error message "0x80070020 The
    process cannot access the file because it is being used by another
    process". I have a knowledge base article which address this issue.

    You receive a "0x80070020 The process cannot access the file because it is
    being used by another process" error message when you try to download an
    update from Windows Update.

    Ok the same thing is happening to me..
    i have retried and the same error message
    so turning off my anti-virus soft ware and retrying should work???

    yes.. but... this is the case of a download... when the download completes
    and is being sent to you pc.. the error message appears...
    something to do with a proxy firewall, where do you go to turn off proxy
    firewall?
    is this your antivirus hardware, or is it somewhere else in the settings in
    your computer?
