(Error 0x80090305)

    It's a new day, but I still have the same problem. Since
    downloading many of the patches and installing them, I
    find I can no longer get into the update site to finish
    the list. Neither can I get log into other secure
    websites. I tried all the standard stuff last night, but
    without success. Any ideas?

    EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM FOR ME AS WELL.
    I downloaded all security stuff, no luck in windows
    update.

    Have you looked at your Windows Update.log file ? What does it for the "fail date"?
    Would you make a copy & paste back here --- the section out of log?

    You need to find & "isolate" the section of the log for that "fail date". (at bottom end of file)
    Use Windows' Notepad to open this log:
    C:\Windows\Windows Update.log (for Win XP & Win98/Me)

    And mention your version /edition of Windows !
