I have a server that has been running on an ADAPTEC 2120s Raid card
The card is faulty -it overheats, data transfer fails and the server
    reboots
I am a fair way from a major centre so I decided to take the opportunity and
change to a serial ATA raid

I copied - ghosted - the drive to a serial ATA drive all seemed OK

When I go to boot I get to the setting network connections then the error
0xc00002E1 comes up the message says to boot into safe mode and do directory
    restore

When I do that I get to the logon, enter my details it appears to do
something but then the logon screen pops up

I have to install the serial ATA as the box has to be back up so I'll do a
fresh install, I have kept the original RAID untouched so if there is a
solution I'll be able to redo the lot.

    I am using win2003 standard

    I resovled the problem

I had ghosted the Hard Drive and rebooted the Server with the raid card
    still in place

That meant that on its initial startup the HDD got drive G:

When I removed the Raid Card the HDD went drive C:

    The drive name had changed
I just redid the ghosting and shut down, removed the RAID card and booted up
    without error

    Thanks Giuseppe
