Error 8FFF011A: The specified parameter is out of range for the specified command.

    Can't play a specific CD. Get the below message right away. Media player keeps "counting" but CD is not being read (no light). Here are the stats. Any ideas

    Error Message #: 8FFF011A (not displayed in message box
    Message: The specified parameter is out of range for the specified command
    Windows Media Player: 9.00.00.298
    OS: Windows 200
    CD: George Winston, December, 20th Anniversary Editio

    I can listen to other CDs

  2. If it just happens with that single CD I would guess it either bad or has
    some sort of special copy protection that doesn't allow it to be played in a
    PC. I don't see anything at all about this specific error anywhere.

    Thanks Chris. I tried it later in the day (which involved unrelated reboots and cycling CD's in my CD drive), and it worked fine.
