error C00D11C8 : video codec for .wma HELP!!!

    "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the required video codec
    is not installed on your computer."

    I'm running windows media player, version 9, on windows XP home... I was
    trying to play a .wma file that I've used hundreds of times before on my
    computer (actually, a short playlist of wma's) but I got a player upgrade
    recently, and now, all of a sudden, my computer can't play my favorite AMV's.

    Any idea how to fix this?

    WMA and WMV would be different - according to the file properties you get
    when you try to play that file in WMP, what video codec does the file use?
