I'm trying to connect my PC to my XBox (not 360) using Media Center Extender.

After two weeks of trying I finally managed to them to connect (or at least
    I thougth so).

The MCE install first tells me that it can connect and that it has confimed
the key, however, just when everything looks like it's going to work the MCE
then fails with a message to the effect that it can't find a needed IP
address. It shows me a screen telling me to input the IP address manually. I
do this but it still fails to connect.

The event viewer gives the following message : ERROR: Device Service
Listener - The listener loop unexpectedly ended. Error code 0x80004005.

Can some one please help me with this. I've searched the web for answers but
    have had no luck.

    I have a Dell Dimension 4600, 2GiG Memory, Linksys WRT54GS router, Linksys
Gigabit Network card and my xBox is hard wired in to my router. I've
installed all the updates, rollups and patches I can find. I've also updated
all of the firmware and I've disabled all firewalls. I have no virus scanner.
I rebuilt my machine from scratch twice in the hopes it would solve this
    problem. It didn't.

I'm at a complete loss as what I can do next.

It's always the way. After two weeks of trying I fixed this 20 minutes after
my first post. The fix was to set my router from mixed mode to G-Only -
    worked first time.

    Cheers and Good Luck
